First and foremost, lets debunk all these rumours about not being allowed fake tan at your bridal appointments.

We would absolutely advise that if you are planning on having that fresh, sunkissed glow on your wedding day, throw on a bit of tan the week of your appointment!

We want you feeling your absolute best when trying on dresses, and be able to envision yourself walking down that isle! Take it from me, even if I try on an outfit for heading out at the weekend, I nearly automatically hate it because I don’t feel my best self!

We would only advise you shower your tan off at least twice before attending your appointment to avoid or minimise any transferring onto any dresses.

Moral of the story is, don’t be afraid to get all glammed up for your bridal appointment!

Secondly, we would only ever advise to bring at most two to three people with you when attending your bridal appointment.

Ensure you completely trust these people, and effectively value their opinion. You want your bridal squad to look at YOU in the dress, not start thinking about their own taste and shopping for themselves!

Bringing too many people to your bridal appointments, never mind your very first one EVER, can be extremely confusing when trying to envision yourself on your big day. This tends to lead to an array of opinions, and family/friends taking over the appointment.

Always remember, YOU are the bride, this is YOUR day, and the only opinion that matters is YOURS. Believe me, every single person will look at you as a bride in awe, no matter what dress you say yes to!

Lastly, come in with an open mind. You may have spent hours, days, even weeks looking at different dresses online and have already decided in concrete what you want… let’s be real, as a bride you will never 100% know what you want… until you try it on.

Of course, it is always good to have some sort of idea on where you think you maybe want to go in terms of your wedding gown for your stylist, but this is the fun part. Try on bits and bobs of everything, relax and enjoy every single second of doing so! Because remember, you only do this once!! (hopefully)

The best advise I can give as a stylist on this part is two words, ‘Dream Big’.
